Welcome to the space dedicated to Communities of practice in the Forum for the Economic Empowerment of Women in West Africa platform
Why such a space?
As part of the scientific animation of the cohort of GrOW West Africa projects funded by IDRC, interactions with various stakeholders revealed the need to have a permanent space for exchanges, mutual sharing of experiences , debate and development of synergies around the actions undertaken by various stakeholders from all walks of life for the economic empowerment of women in West Africa

- UEMOA and ECOWAS parliamentary groups
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOS)

- Representatives of civil society organizations

What are our goals?
The forum aims to promote gender equality and accelerate women’s economic empowerment (SDG5 – Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls) in a context where progress made has been negatively impacted by the pandemic of covid 19.
Specifically, it aims to:
- Organize a debate between the various stakeholders working on women's economic empowerment
- Share experiences and good practices in promoting women's economic empowerment
- Provide visibility on the actions implemented by the various stakeholders
- Strengthen synergies between actors working on women's economic empowerment issues
- Promote the use of evidence in decision-making on women's economic empowerment
- Advocate for reforms for the economic empowerment of women in west Africa
